Merlin Mail is in use around the world - from our own hosting servers to being the webmail of choice in Korea (@seoul.com - sold under the name Hermes T-Mail), with many businesses making it their preferred communication method.

Features include:

Folders	Supports the standard In, Sent, Trash folders in addition to any number of user-defined folders. Folder options include: "Delete" option moves to Trash. "Shred" will totally wipe the email contents off the disk. There will be no record of the text. Flag mail to follow up on. Move mail to other folders. The In box will flag all new mail. Block mail from being received in the future.
Compositions	Features when composing or replying to an email: Supports 'CC' and 'BCC' multiple addresses. Attach unlimited files - dependent only on your allowed disk space. Compose email text optionally as HTML. Save as a draft for later sending. Specify "return receipt requested". When the addressee reads the mail, you will receive a notification mail in your In box. Sign and/or encrypt your email. Send your mail at a later date and time.
Spam Control	Four levels of spam control to fit your specific needs: Low - block unwanted email received in your In box. Full control over the blocked email database. Medium - block unwanted email by IP address OR by key words or phrases contained in either the header or text of the email. High - the preferred choice of Merlin Mail users. Only allow email into your In box if the "from" address is in your address book. Otherwise, send an auto-response to the sender asking them to reply. Normally humans-only will reply - and then you get their original email. Eliminates spam immediately! Ultra - Only allow email in if the sender is in your address book. Global addresses can optionally be created to allow in other addresses.
Virus Control	Suspect attachments (.pif, .dll, .exe, etc) are automatically disabled from display. Optionally stripped if downloaded through POP3.
Secure Mail	Supports all features to securely send and receive email: Import or create digital IDs for signing and encrypting. Supports a certificate manager for maintaining certificates. Send email signed or encrypted. Secure display of your email data on the web using SSL high encryption. Supports a secure POP3 connection for protected download of your emails. Supports a secure SMTP connection for incoming email.
Address Book	Supports a robust address book. Keeps complete personal and business data. Creates aliases for quick lookup. Supports multiple groups for easy categorization. Easy to send one email to selected people in a group. Supports "last in" and "last out" links to recent emails from or to this person. Address books can be imported from other mail systems. Used to control spam.
Search Options	Supports a powerful search engine allowing users to search for key words in any folder (or all folders).
Automatic Emails	Create custom scripts for automatic emails sent in the following ways: Reminder messages sent to you or others. Specify date and times to send. Can be recurring over any length of time. Send an automatic response email to incoming mail senders. Optionally different responses depending on what address group the sender is in. Send reminder emails to yourself for birthday and anniversary dates.
Configurable Options	Automatic notice of new mail - via popup or harp tune. Automatic forwarding of incoming mail to specific folders. Automatic forwarding of incoming mail to other email addresses. Auto-complete email addresses from your personal address book. Personal signature file attached to every outgoing email. Supports multiple "from" or "reply-to" email addresses. Control header detail display. Recycle Trash and Sent folders automatically.
POP3 Support	Configurable options allow users to: Use a POP3 client (e.g. Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger, etc) to download email. Optionally strip possible viruses. Shred or trash mail after downloading.
Administrator Options	Supports a full-featured backoffice for the administer to create and maintain email accounts. Controls include: Determine if new accounts can be set up through a public site or only by the administrator. Add, view, delete email accounts. Modify assigned disk space for user accounts. Send email scripts to all users. Customize standard scripts for automatic emails. Define "tips of the day" - custom scripts that will display in each user's webmail home. Control whether or not POP3 is allowed. Enable/disable abuse detection. Allows administrator to be notified when a user sends out mail at an abnormal rate. Enable/disable SMTP authentication. Prevents spammers from "hijacking" accounts. Enable/disable email relaying.
